Sec. 11-24-1. Applications for grants

Application for a grant to a free public library, as provided by section 11-24 of the general statutes, shall be made to the state board of education by *** such library on or before June fifteenth of each year on a form provided by the state board of education. Such application shall state the amount appropriated by the town or taxing district *** to such libary for its general purpose for the library's last fiscal year and the amount appropriated for such use for the library's fiscal year last preceding July 14, 1955.***

Sec. 11-24-2. Public library statistical report required

The annual public library statistical report, on a form *** provided by the state board of education for the library's last completed fiscal year, shall be filed with the state board of education before the application is approved for payment. Such report shall show both the receipts and the expenditures for the library's general purposes of a sum equal to the amount paid to such library by the state comptroller plus an equal amount appropriated by the town or taxing district. Expenditures for general purposes shall not include capital expenses, such as buildings, sites and additions.

Sec. 11-24-3. Certification to comptroller
Latest version.

Upon approval of the report as required in section 11-25 of the general statutes, and the application *** to the state board of education, the *** amount of the approved payment shall be certified by the state board of education to the state comptroller for payment and the library shall be notifed of the action.
