Sec.42-160-2. Registration of self-storage facility

  • In order to dispose of any motor vehicle abandoned at a self- service storage facility, the owner shall comply with chapter 743 of the Connecticut General Statutes and all procedures set forth in sections 42-160-1 through 42-160-6 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. Prior to the sale or other disposition of a motor vehicle or motor vehicles under chapter 743 of the Connecticut General Statutes and sections 42-160-1 through 42-160-6 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, the owner shall be required to register with the commissioner by submitting such information pertaining to the self-storage facility as the commissioner requests, including but not limited to a copy of the rental agreement used by the owner for the use and occupancy of a unit or units in the self-storage facility. Such information shall be provided on a form approved by the commissioner and shall be kept in the records of the department. The owner shall notify the commissioner within ten (10) days of any change in the information submitted to the department under this section. Upon successfully registering with the department, the owner shall be assigned an identifying number.
